1. Condensation elimination

Not only does the aluminum open, cross-slat floor contribute to weight savings,  it’s a superior design that allows the tent to breathe. We paired it with strategically located venting to virtually eliminate condensation.

2. Mount accessories

Dual channel extruded aluminum allows you to mount crossbars, shovels, traction boards, lightbars, rotopax, and more.

3. Intentionally armored

To provide an insulating factor for all seasons and prioritizing the compact, lightweight design, patented Tri-Layer armors the entirety of this rooftop tent.

4. Gas-strut assisted

Effortlessly deploy you tent once you arrive to camp. Designed to live on the inside so when you're not using the tent, they're protected and not vulnerable to catching tree limbs or accumulating dirt.

5. Integrated protection

The entire tent body is completely waterproof. The integrated rainfly serves as an extra layer of security and shielding from the sun.

    Great Quality RTT

I knew I wanted this style design; because I didn’t want to feel like I was lying in a coffin. I know there are other dupes on Amazon/competitors that are both on the cheaper and more expensive end but where this rtt stands out is in the detail and quality. Gas-struts not exposed to the elements when the tent is not in use, the tri-layer tent body, and self-inflating air mattress, all add to the comfortability of this product. I also received outstanding customer service from Katie, which speaks volumes to the company core values and culture. I am definitely an advocate for Freespirit Recreation!!

    Aspen series hardshell

I’m traveling the US currently out of my 4Runner and the aspen has become my home, keeping me warm in the mountains of Colorado and keeping me cool in the deserts of Arizona, the mattress is stiff and me personally I enjoy it, some might not. Overall I’m thrilled to be running a Colorado local brand tent. Highly recommend

    So far wonderful

Just received my Aspen. Opened it up sitting on the trailer and the quality looks superb. Opening and closing was a snap. It is now put away in my garage while I eagerly wait for spring to mount it onmy truck to use it.

    Checks All The Boxes

I had been shopping around for a bit for a hard-shell rooftop tent that wouldn't require me to remove my kayak if I wanted to stop and take a quick nap. Pretty much everything I was seeing on the market that could do that was starting at a weight of around 250lbs which I didn't want that much weight on my rack and the few that came in under that weight were extremely expensive with long weight times and expensive shipping costs. Than I happened to see someone driving with a Freespirit RTT and I talked to them about it. To my surprise it met all the specs for weight and durability and strength and was also $1000s cheaper then the nearest comparable tent on the market and it had free shipping. So I placed to the order online. I was slightly nervous because I had never bought anything that large or expensive online so I had all those fears associated with that. The folks over at FSR told me I had nothing to worry about and sure enough about a week and a half later I received my RTT and it was in perfect condition. They put it on pallet in a oversized box with plenty of packing material so as to make sure nothing would break or get damaged and I could not be happier with my purchase and the process

    Aspen 55”

We have not had a chance to sleep in the tent yet, so I can not comment on comfort, but quality is awesome! Set up and take down is simple and fast! My only complaint is the mounting brackets, they were too small for my load bars, but I was able to bend/modify them to work for the initial install. I will definitely update my review after our first winter camping trip in a few weeks!

    As expected

Product quality seems excellent. Shipping was super fast. Deal included free ground tent. Sleeping bag and hat! Only reason for not giving 5 stars is one of the windows is a bit difficult to zip. Seems the tent may need adjusting.

    Great quality tent

I am EXTREMELY impressed with the fit and finish of the Aspen tent. Everything is really great build quality and I can't really find any shortcuts that had been taken. Hinges and latches are overbuilt and great. Still waiting to try it out in the woods but have spent a good deal of time going over it and checking everything out. I could not be happier with this tent. I was hesitant to swap from my last tent but am extremely glad I did.

    Free Spirit Good Times Gear

This is my 4th Free Spirit Tent - and while that may seem like a lot this is my 7th roof top tent - and in that same span of time my 12th rig... anyways: i love Free Spirit's tents. I've had the other major brands and some of the cheap chinese stuff. Whats to love. The quality construction, the high quality materials, the insulated walls. As fort he Aspen specifically this is actually my first hard shell tent. It is so easy to set up and take down that I find myself showing it off to comenting strangers at Gas Stations and friends. It takes mere seconds to put up and mere seconds to close up. The ease of tear down was my primary reason for going hard shell. I do not regret the decision. What would I change - slightly taller lid so I could keep a pillow or a down comforter up in the tent when closed. Other than this - I love the tent - In the 1st 30 days I've owned it I've slept in it 20 nights - I actually go camping during the work week now and have no slowdowns, "making my bed" and moving on down the road.

This be is an awesome tent! Looks great on the Leitner Designs rack and is very easy to set up and take down. Love the convenience and ease! We will see how it hold up with time but so far I really like it! (: RB

Only issue is it is hard to close because of the tight space when it folds down other than that it is well made and would last a long time

Everything I was looking for in a roof top tent

This tent was perfect for my wife and myself. Installation was easy but I needed to modify the mounting bars to fit my Frontrunner load bars. I also changed the mounting knob nuts to security nuts so it would be harder to steal. The side rails allowed me to customize attachments to the tent how ever I wanted. I installed some KC Cyclone lights on the rail for camp lights. We tested the tent on our week long trip to Yellowstone and it was amazing. The ease of setup and teardown allowed us to get on the road during the day and set back up when we returned to camp quickly. The mattress was comfortable but I like firm mattresses. The insulated sides kept the tent very warm throughout the night. There was quite a bit of condensation inside in the morning but was easily wiped away with a towel. We tried venting the side doors to reduce the moisture but it was about the same. The USB light string in the tent was awesome. Although I wish the plug was near the back door so it could be plugged in easily before entering the tent. Our tent is mounted on the canopy of our Jeep Gladiator with 35" tires and it's low profile still allowed us to enter in a parking garage of a hotel on our way back home. Overall I am very happy with the tent and the quailty.

    Great tent all around!

LOVE the new Aspen series tent! Very roomy, insanely easy setup, and solid build quality. My one gripe about it is the ladder mounts, would love to see an upgrade to an aluminum mounting system to be more solid. I have the 49” and there is more than enough room for me a 200lbs guy and my 55lbs Husky. Keep up the great work guys!

    First RTT and Impressed

This is my first RTT so I don't have a lot to compare to. The tent appears to be high quality and looks really great on my Ram Rebel with RSI Smart Cap. The tent is very low profile and even with no instructions was easy to get the hang of. Haven’t been able to use it camping yet but have a feeling from what I have seen here at home that it will be amazing. Can’t wait to spend some time in it in the mountains. The only thing I dont understand is that there are three sides you can enter from but only 2 ladder mounts.
