Small but Mighty: The Hub 4 Double Tent Deep Dive

Small but Mighty: The Hub 4 Double Tent Deep Dive

When space in your vehicle is limited, every piece of gear has to earn its spot. The Hub 4 Double is purpose-built for compact packing, easy setup, and all-weather durability - making it the ultimate basecamp tent for efficient adventurers.

It has a long and lean footprint, a compact carrying bag, and all the features you'd expect from the FSR Hub Tent lineup, like Tri-Layer insulation, fast pull-tab setup, and an integrated stove jack. It's not the smallest tent in dimensions, but it's one of the most compact when packed, easily stashed in a sedan trunk, backseat, or short-bed pickup.

Let's dive deep into why this tent stands out among compact tents with double-wall construction and how it earns its place as the heart of any streamlined camp setup.

Long and Lean Footprint

At 6 feet wide by 12 feet long, the Hub 4 Double gives you 72 square feet of usable space in a narrow, efficient layout. That's the equivalent of two six-foot sections side-by-side. The Hub 4 Double is great for a range of setups, from multiple sleeping cots to a single or couple's sleep space with room left for chairs, a table, or even a small indoor kitchen. With so many ways to configure it, the Hub 4 Double offers endless setup options tailored to how you camp.

It comfortably fits 4 to 8 people and it's a favorite among those who like to spread out. The interior height of 78" allows you to stand up fully, so you can comfortably change clothes or prep gear for the day's adventure.

Whether you're using it as your primary sleeping tent, warm hang-out area, or indoor camp kitchen, the Hub 4 Double is purpose-built for intentional, functional basecamp life.

Compact Storage, Big Capability

One of the most impressive things about the Hub 4 Double is how much it offers and how little space it takes up when packed away. Despite its long footprint when set up, it folds into a compact 54" carry bag that's small enough to fit in the trunk of a sedan, the backset of your daily driver, or any truck bed.

That means it's perfect for campers who want the comfort of a large, livable tent without giving up precious cargo space in their vehicle. If you're packing for a trip with limited room, the Hub 4 Double is the best compact tent with double-wall construction, and it doesn't sacrifice quality or comfort.

Fast Setup with Pull Tab Simplicity

Like the rest of the Hub tent lineup, The Hub 4 Double features our pull tab design. A simple, easy-to-use approach to setup that eliminates the frustration of overly complicated setups. With only three poles included to add structure to the entryway and no complex steps to follow, this tent pops into place in mere minutes.

It's especially convenient when you're solo or arriving at camp after dark. The freestanding design stays rigid and stable, and the integrated front door adds structure and ease of access. When you're trying to set up camp and beat an incoming storm, the Hub 4 Double makes getting your shelter in place one less thing to worry about.

And when it's time to head home, everything folds down and packs into the compact carrying case. Ready to throw in your vehicle and hit the road.

Four-Season Comfort with Double-Wall Construction

Built with our signature Tri-Layer material, the Hub 4 Double is ready for year-round adventure. Each wall features an inner bug mesh layer for ventilation and visibility, paired with a roll-up outer layer of Tri-Layer material. This creates a double-wall construction. The result? Better temperature regulation, weather protection, and airflow control.

If the weather is sweltering hot or bone-chilling cold, the Tri-Layer material helps regulate the interior temperature. Staying breathable in warm months and insulating heat when it's cold. Plus, it's completely water-resistant.

The integrated 3" stove jack adds even more versatility for colder camping trips, allowing you to set up a wood-burning stove for heat or cooking. Pair that with the removable rainfly and roll-up walls, and you have full control over your airflow and insulation depending on the season and weather conditions.

Purpose-Driven Interior Features

Inside Hub 4 Double are several features that enhance usability. The removable floor velcros to the tent walls 6" above the ground, creating a barrier that helps prevent water from entering the tent from runoff or wet conditions. A convenient feature when weather rolls in unexpectedly.

The LED light strip provides overhead lighting for late-night card games or early-morning gear prep, and additional anchor points throughout the tent make it easy to hang the LED Fan Lamp or LED Speaker / String Lights. Combine a set of string lights for ambient lighting and built-in surround sound that sets the vibe for camp.

The integrated PVC window has a blackout panel, so you can let in natural light during the day or block it out. And with interior storage pockets and plenty of mesh gear grids, you'll have no problem organizing small essentials.

Rainfly with Zip-Away Front Access

Protection from the elements is essential, but so is accessibility. That's why we upgraded the rainfly on the latest iteration of all the Hub tents with zippers at each front corner.

These allow you to roll up the front portion of the rainfly and fully expose the integrated front door, making entry and exit smoother and more convenient. No more crouching or dealing with fabric blocking your way in.

This feature is perfect for those who want easy pass-through access to their tent, especially when moving gear in and out or just stepping in and out throughout the day. Leave the rest of the rainfly in place for protection and airflow with the option to unzip one or both corners for easy access.

Built for the Adventurer Who Packs Smart

The Hub 4 Double is made for people who want a lot of livable space at camp but don't want to sacrifice precious vehicle space or leave other gear behind. It's the best option for campers with sedans, short-bed pickups, or anyone limited on storage space who refuses to compromise on comfort.

Use it as a sleep setup, a full-on camp kitchen and hang out spot, or a mix of both. It's a blank canvas that can accommodate any number of layouts from a group camping setup to a hybrid space with a bed on one end and a kitchen and dining area on the other.

No matter how you configure it, this tent offers the protection and flexibility of a full-size shelter, all in a compact package that fits in almost any vehicle. If you’re the kind of camper who chooses gear that works hard and packs small, the Hub 4 Double was built for you.
